Intuitive Typewriter Poetry
I believe art is spiritual and creativity is worship. To make something from nothing is one of the greatest gifts of being human.
Typewriter poetry is a part of my practice that keeps me inspired and brave. (Nothing like handing out dozens of unedited first drafts to strangers!)
What I love most is witnessing how poetry fuels connection. For that small moment, two people get to enter a liminal space, the sacred womb of creation. We laugh, cry, share, we see each other.
And while the poem may be ink-smudged and maybe misspelled, it is imbued with the essence of who you are in that moment, and what came through for you.

I write poems on the spot for people without having a plan and with very little information. I ask if they have a theme, topic, or question, or if they’d just like me to see what comes through. I pull an oracle card and we look at the words and the art and see what that sparks for us. Then I type. It’s intuitive, channeled. I don’t think about it, I just go. At the end, I read it to them. Sometimes people cry or laugh or look at their friends wide-eyed, “How did she know?”

Nothing is memorized. Nothing is duplicated. Everything is written on the spot. Unique and personalized. Custom to you. Sometimes metaphors, phrases, or images will repeat, as things do in poetry, but your poem is written solely for you.

I intuitively connect with energy. I hear their words, their questions, their emotions, and I trust the words that come through me. Often I don’t have an idea of what the poem will say or where the words are going, and when I read it to them, it’s my first time reading it too!

It depends on the length of the poem, ranging from 5-15 minutes from start to finish.
